Are you naturally enthusiastic or not?
When recently at a dealerships morning meeting, we asked this question and we got mixed answers.
” Yes I am”
” No I’m Not”
”Well you have to be in this occupation, don’t you?”
”It takes me sometime to warm up, but when I get going I’m fine”
ASA conducted a short interview with this team , we asked the sales team to answer honestly as if they were at a job interview for ASA Motor Company.
All we asked was:
‘Tell me about yourself?”
”How many cars do you sell?”
”How do you do this?”
”What are your sales penetrations?”
”What DMS (Dealer Management System) do you use?”
After 10-15mins we then asked how do you feel?
”Energised!” was the first response from Sales Executive Peter, followed by ”I feel good” from Sales Executive Jane and the rest agreed.
So what have you learned then from this exercise?
”Well, we actually know what we want to do already and we know how to do it, when we feel energised and enthusiastic we are more motivated to achieve it”
We are more likely to sell more when we are enthusiastic, happy and motivated. Sometimes we have to force this in ourselves, as we are all not naturally enthusiastic 100% of the time.
